Watch the first trailer for Office spinoff David Brent: Life on the Road

Ricky Gervais is reprising the character of David Brent in a movie spinoff of The Office, and a first trailer for the film shows Brent (and Gervais) haven't changed. The film, David Brent: Life on the Road, catches up with the former paper merchant 12 years after the original "documentary." Brent is now a traveling salesman, but has organized a self-funded tour for his band Foregone Conclusion. Cue the awkward jokes, the awkward pauses, and — from both Brent and hopefully the audience, too — the awkward laughter.

David Brent: Life on the Road is set for a release in UK and Ireland's cinemas on August 19th this year, but it'll be coming to US shores via Netflix. The streaming company has acquired the global rights for the film, although there's not yet a date for its release.
